Kufstein were back in action again on Saturday after the long winter break, and they continued right where they left off by defeating Anif in a impressive 3-1 victory on the road. The win took them up to third place in the table, seven points behind Dornbirn in first. They need to keep racking up the wins if they are to have any chance of catching the league leaders, as only one team is promoted from Regionalliga.
Kufstein’s top scorer, 39 year old Mahammadou Idrissou, shows no signs of losing his touch and scored a brace against Anif which took his tally to 13 for the season. 20 year old midfielder Jeffrey Egbe made his long awaited debut in the same match.
Hohenems had a terrible restart to the season and lost 0-4 at home to Wörgl. The visitors have now conceded a whopping 46 goals this season, only hopeless bottom of the table Langenegg are worse with 47. They have lost 7 of their 9 games away from home and are down to 12th place in the table and relegation is now a real risk. They did sign three new players during the winter break but there were no signs of improvement against Wörgl. We believe they are in for a very difficult evening.
To make things even worse, the visitors have to do without top scorer Jan Stefanon, who is out with a thigh strain.
