LASK Linz vs FAC Wien
In the last game before the winter break, 3rd placed LASK Linz take on bottom of the table FAC Wien in the 19th round of the Austrian second division. LASK are four points adrift top placed Wacker Innsbruck and have two points up to St. Pölten in second and need a win tonight not to risk getting too far behind the top two. At Stadion der Stadt Linz they have three straight wins (6 in 9 this season) and they also impressed in a deserved 2-0 win away to Austria Salzburg on Tuesday. They have to do without right back Reinhold Ranftl tonight as he picked up his 5th yellow against Salzburg and is suspended. They are also missing long term injured trio René Gartler, Manuel Kerhe and Nikola Dovedan.
FAC Wien have had a season to forget to say the least. They have only picked up 5 points all season and are almost certain to be relegated. With a squad consisting of a majority of very young players, they just aren’t ready yet for the pace of the division. They have only scored 5 goals in nine games away from home, while conceding 14. Against a motivated home side they are likely to struggle.
LASK are big favourites here and rightly so. They did have a game on Tuesday, so it’s a bit of a short rest, but we still see them winning this by a couple of goals.
