Barcelona have bounced back from their surprising defeat to Deportivo La Coruna a couple of weeks ago, and have since recorded two straight wins – against Valencia at home and Granada away. The away win on the weekend might have been quite big in the end (4-1), but the scoreline didn’t really reflect the game, as Barca scored a couple of late goals when Granada pushed everything forward towards the end in a search for an equalizer.
They now have Lionel Messi back which of course is a huge plus, but judging on the performance against Granada, we are not so sure they will completely dominate this game.
Aleix Vidal, Arda Turan and Rafinha are still out injured.
Sevilla are in a bit of a slump and haven’t actually won a game since they defeated Athletic Bilbao in the beginning March. Since then they have been knocked out of the Champions League by Leicester and also drawn against teams like Leganes, Alaves and Sporting Gijon.
With that said, there is plenty of quality in the squad and not too long ago they were considered serious title contenders. They basically need to pick themselves up and will no doubt be fired up for this one.
Do we see Barcelona as the clear favorites? Yes. Will they necessarily run their opponents over? We are not completely convinced.
