Barwell vs Stamford
After four straight defeats, Barwell desperately need a win in their search for a promotion playoff spot. They came within minutes of claiming a point away to Nantwitch in their last league outing, but a 91st minute strike by Max Harrop saw them taste defeat yet again. On a positive note, new signing Ryan Boothe came off the bench to make his debut for the club and showed he will be a great injection in the squad. Canaries manager Jimmy Ginnelly has brought in no less than four new players in recent weeks and apart from Boothe, Nathan Edington, Trey Brathwaite and Joe Elliot have also joined the club. We believe a win is just around the corner and it might come already tonight.
Stamford have four defeats in their last five away games and find themselves further and further away from safety. They sit 22nd in the table, 5 points adrift Micklover Sports just above the relegation zone and something needs to change if they are to stay in the division. With only one point in their last four league games it’s hard to find many positives though. Their narrow defeat to league leaders Blyth Spartans in the last round may be one, but the 0-1 defeat was flattering for Stamford. Tonight could be yet another night of struggles.
