Blyth Spartans vs Goole
Blyth Spartans are one a six matches unbeaten run in all competitions as they take on Goole in an FA Trophy Qualification replay tonight. The two played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday in Goole and now head to Croft Park for do it all over again. The Spartans were forced into several changes on the weekend and while Matty Pattison and Nathan Buddle are still expected to be out, captain Robert Dale is likely to return to the side.
The home side are having a really good season to date and sit second in the table, only a point behind leaders Whitby. Facing a struggling opponent in a division below shouldn’t cause them too many problems.
Goole are continuing their struggles in the league from last season where they ended 19th, just five points clear of relegation. They have since transferred to the Northern Premier League Division One North (from Division One South) but continue to find it hard to pick up points. The Vikings are currently 21st in the league with only 10 points from 14 rounds, having conceded a massive 34 times while only finding the back of the net 14 times.
Against a high-flying home side we don’t give the visitors much chance here.
