Kettering Town vs Cinderford Town
With almost half the season gone, Kettering Town are hoping to pick up the pace and make a dash for the promotion playoff spots. They currently sit 11th in the table, 10 points behind Merthyr Town in 5th, and need to start putting points on the board in order not to slip too far behind. Their home form has been disappointing this season with only two wins from 11 games, but they have won two of their last three at Latimer Park, so things might be about to change.
Today they have an excellent opportunity to make it two home wins in a row when bottom of the table Cinderford Town come for a visit. Kettering’s game against Leamington on Tuesday was postponed meaning they will also have more a few more days of rest than their opponents.
Cinderford Town are rock-bottom in the table, having only picked up 10 points from 21 games. Away from home they have 10 straight defeats and are still searching for their first point of the season. They have a new manager in Paul Michael who has started a revamp of the squad with several players leaving while new ones coming in. They did impress in a 3-2 win at home over Chippenham Town a couple of weeks ago but it might still take a few more weeks for everyone to settle in.
We believe the visitors will find it very difficult today.
