Macclesfield vs Alfreton
October has been a good month for Macclesfield in which they have racked up three wins, one draw and a loss in the five games they’ve played. Their home form has been good all season and they go into tonight’s FA Cup qualifier against Alfreton brimming of confidence. A win would put them in the first round of the Cup meaning a chance to play a team from a higher division which could bring in some needed funds for the club. Macclesfield boss John Askey is confident his team can progress and will field his strongest team including top scorer Kristian Dennis who has already scored 10 goals in 16 league outings this season.
Alfreton has been in indifferent form this season in which they started out poorly then had a great spell in September with four straight wins. They now have lost three league games on the trot and have had trouble on their travels all season. Plying their trade in a division lower than their opponents, it will take something special for them to go through.
The last two FA Cup ties between the two has seen Macclesfield comfortable winners and we believe another win for the Silkmen is on the cards this afternoon.
