Notts County – Yeovil
Notts County are one of the promotion contenders in League Two this season, having been knocked out by Coventry in the playoff semis last season. The Magpies, with Kevin Nolan at the helm, have strengthened their squad wisely with the likes of veteran midfielder David Vaughan, striker Enzio Boldewijn from Crawley and Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain (yes, Alex’s brother) from Portsmouth as well as striker Kristian Dennis (19 goals for Chesterfield last season) who could make his first start for the club tonight after working extra on his fitness in recent weeks.
After two league rounds they are still without a win but did impress in a 3-3 draw (lost on penalties) away to Middlesbrough on Tuesday, and it’s about time they record their first win of the season.
Yeovil are in a similar situation, being without a win in the 2018/19 season, and they also did well against Championship opposition this week. Darren Way’s side is however expected to fight at the other end of the table and come into tonight’s game with some serious injury concerns.
Stuart Nelson (calf), Jake Gray (ankle), James Bailey (knee) and Jordan Green (suspended) will not even make the trip and Reece Cole, Francois Zoko and Shaun Donnellan are doubts.
With plenty of firepower up front, we expect the Magpies to punish a depleted Yeovil line-up here.
