Redditch vs Histon
With 10 games to play Redditch are now topping the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division table after two straight impressive away wins against Paulton Rovers (5-0) and Cirencester Town (2-0). After three games in a row on the road they now have four straight league games at The Valley, giving them a real chance to claim the title. The first obstacle comes today when lowly Histon come for a visit. Being the strongest home team in the league, losing only once in 16 games, we believe the three points can only go one way here.
Histon are struggling big time at the moment. They are almost certain to get relegated after losing 1-3 at home to closest rivals Frome Town in the fight for survival. There is now six points separating the two and with Histon already having played 39 games (Frome are on 36) and only have seven left this season, they really have a mountain to climb. Things are not made any easier by the amount of players who have left the club recently. Only this week there were two new departures in Nick Freeman and Miles Smith, both regulars this season for the Stutes. They now have to look to Histon scholars to fill their shoes and we just don’t that that will be good enough.
