Viktoria Köln – Kaan-Marienborg
Viktoria Köln were the clear promotion favourites in Regionalliga West before the season started, and so far they haven’t disappointed anyone, racking up five wins and only one loss from their opening nine league games. They are still to drop a single point at home, while only conceding once in four league outings.
Needless to say, they are the clear favourites tonight when they welcome newly promoted Kaan-Marienborg to Sportpark Höhenberg.
Kaan-Marienborg were promoted to the Regionalliga for the first time in the club’s history last season. They have quickly found out that Regionalliga is something very different to Oberliga though, and the team from Siegerland have only managed to collect five points from nine league games so far, and sit 18th and bottom of the table.
To make things even worse the visitors will be without defender Jannik Schneider and midfielders Mehmet Kurt and Semih Yigit for tonight’s game, all three through suspensions.
If not a walk in the park, this should at least be a rather comfortable win for the hosts.
