Zulte Waregem vs Westerlo
Zulte Waregem are back to their best again after a poor last season in which they finished a disappointing 12th in the league. They currently sit fourth in the table and are on a four match unbeaten run including wins against Club Brugge and early league leaders Oostende. This might come as a surprise to some as there was a near complete revamp of the squad during the summer and key players like Skúlason, Trajkovski, Messoudi and Troisi all left the club. The new signings have settled well though and returning striker M’Baye Leye, who spent last season at Lokeren, has already found the net four times this season. Zulte boss Francky Dury has an almost fully fit squad to choose from, with only Nicolas Storm missing. Facing bottom of the league Westerlo, the home fans will not accept anything but three points tonight.
Westerlo have had a torrid start to the season, picking up only six points from the initial eight rounds. The 0-3 defeat at home to St. Truiden last week show they still have plenty of work to if they don’t want to end up in a relegation battle. Things aren’t made easier tonight as defender Nikola Petkovic and top scorer Frédéric Gounongbe both picked up injuries in training and are out. Benjamin De Ceulaer is also missing as he is still not back from his injury.
