There is history in the making in tonight’s Austrian Cup Final as Red Bull Salzburg can become the first team to ever win three doubles (cup and league) in a row. That, if anything, should work as an extra motivator, if ever the Salzburg players needed one. The Salzburg outfit finished the season strong with a 15 matches long streak of games without defeat comfortably claimed the Bundesliga title. They trashed Austria Wien 5-2 in the Cup semis to reach the final and are the clear favorites to lift the trophy, rightly so.
Team news: Leitgeb, Yabo, Prevljak, Sörensen and Damari are all out from before and top scorer Jonathan Soriano is a doubt.
Admira Wacker have done well to make it to the final and are hoping to win their first cup title in 50 years. It will be a tough task though as they haven’t defeated Salzburg in 10 games, losing nine and drawing one. Back in October last year they were trashed 8-0 and since then they have lost an additional two times against the Champions, so confidence might not be running too high. We think they will struggle and tip Salzburg for a rather comfortable win in Klagenfurt tonight.
Team news: Captain Christoph Schößwendter miss out through injury as does Philipp Posch, Marcaus Maier, Toni Vastic and Rene Schicker.
