Energie Cottbus vs Mainz II
Energie Cottbus have their league status all in their own hands as they go into the last round of the season. A win means they will stay in the German third division and for a club that played in the Bundesliga only seven years ago it is definitely a must. After losing four league games in a row at the end of March and in April, they have now won two of their last three with the away win at Erfurt their most impressive performance in a while. New coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz seems to have steadied the ship and has two wins in four games in charge. They will have a massive home support today and with motivation all on their side they should claim all three points.
Team news: Only Jonas Zickert and Christopher Schorch are missing in an otherwise fully fit squad.
Mainz II are already safe from relegation after winning at home to Hansa Rostock in the last round. Before that they had a winless streak of eight games, so there is still a big question mark regarding form. Reports say they could have several players missing and are likely to rotate their line-up. Against a home team fighting for survival we don’t think that will be enough.
