Ajax U19 have one foot in the next round of the UEFA Youth League after a 3-0 away win against Spartak Moscow U19 in the first leg of a two legged knock-out round. Ajax totally outplayed the Russians for pretty much all of the 90 minutes and created a bundle of chances. The scoreline was flattering for Spartak and it should have been five or six goals for Ajax rather than three. Danish striker Kasper Dolberg is out injured and Vaclev Cerny and Donny Brook will travel with the first team to Scotland to face Celtic. However coach Wim Jonk has a strong and deep enough squad at his disposal to cope with a few missing players.
Spartak Moscow U19 knocked Ravan Baku out in the last round after winning 4-0 at home following a 0-0 draw in Baku. They were completely trashed in the first leg against Ajax and will need to provide something very different to be able to compete tonight. With a really young squad made up of several players born 1998 and 1999, they will need a near miracle to turn this around.
We believe there is no stopping Ajax here, such was the dominance in the first leg and we definitely see them winning by two goals or more.
