Chesterfield – Braintree
Chesterfield want to continue their perfect start to life in National League when they welcome Braintree to Proact Stadium this afternoon. The Spireties were relegated from League Two last season and are aiming to shoot straight back up, a very realistic goal in our opinion. They have certainly impressed in their first two league outings, claiming all six points, and looked very decent.
Spirities boss Martin Allen is happy to have a deep squad and wouldn’t give away much in terms of who will start, but with such quality to pick from it shouldn’t really matter.
Braintree were promoted from National League North through playoffs last season and have endured a somewhat difficult start to the season. If it wasn’t for the heroics of goalkeeper Ben Killip they would have had 0 points after two games, but they were able to snatch a point away to Barnet last week.
Now they face much tougher opposition and with a young and inexperienced squad we strongly feel this will only go one way.
