Cinderford vs Weymouth
As mentioned in a previous pick, newcomers Cinderford were in for a tough season after almost losing their entire squad in the summer. Several new players have joined during the season, but they have nevertheless struggled so far. They lost again on Saturday against fellow strugglers Hayes & Yeading and are now bottom of the table. They weren’t helped by having two players sent off on the weekend and both face suspensions which won’t make things any easier in the coming weeks. By the looks of it, they are not likely to move out of the relegation zone any time soon.
Weymouth have had a tough schedule up until now, but have still managed to produce four wins and two draws from 10 games so far this season. They trashed 14th placed Stratford 5-0 away on Saturday, in what the Terras boss Jason Matthews described as “pretty much a perfect performance”. The visitors were in complete control for most of the 90 minutes and the decision by Matthews to change the formation and play two up front seems to have paid off. Before Saturday they had only scored only nine goals in their previous nine games this season.
Weymouth’s schedule is looking easier in the coming weeks and with a fully fit squad they are likely to rise in the table starting already tonight.
