Leamington vs Cambridge City
Leamington are firing on all cylinders at the moment and top the Southern League Premier Division table, 16 games into the season. They come into this game on the back of three straight wins, including an impressive 2-0 victory at Redditch. After two games on the road the Brakes are now back at The Phillips 66 Community Stadium, with the hopes of extending their unbeaten home streak that now stretches to an amazing 15 games. Tonight they take on lowly Cambridge City and nothing but a comfortable win would be seen as a major upset.
Team news: Leamington boss Paul Holleran secured a short term loan for Worcester winger Nathan Oluknmi last week and he could make his first start for the club here.
Cambridge City are in a pretty poor financial state which stopped them from making the necessary recruits over the summer. That has also reflected in the league table where they sit 23rd, second bottom, with only 2 wins in 17 games this season. They have a rather small squad which has caused manager Dan Gleeson to name himself on the team sheet on a couple of occasions already this season. He probably won’t need to feature tonight but he is instead likely to see his team struggle from the dugout.
Team news: City manager Dan Gleeson will have to decide whether to restore central defenders Jack Uttridge and David Femiola, who were suspended against Kings Langley, or to stick with Paul Cooper and Jordan Williams, who both did well on the weekend.
Leamington should run out comfortable winners here.
