Dagenham & Redbridge – Oxford United
Dagenham & Redbridge have, as expected, a difficult season behind them and sit bottom of League Two after 16 rounds. They have fared slightly better in the domestic cups but are missing several player for tonight’s clash with Oxford United in Johnstone’s Paint Trophy. Defenders Jack Connors and Justin Hoyte as well as midfielder André Boucaud are all away on international duty. Also Kyle Vassell is missing as he is ineligible to play having already feature in the competition for Peterborough. With a small squad, lacking depth, this could be too much of a blow for the hosts tonight.
Oxford United were tipped for a top place in League Two and have not disappointed anyone so far. They sit second in the table and are still in two domestic cups (FA Cup and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy). They reached this round by defeating League One side Swindon (2-0) in a very impressive display. The league form is also quite good with a 5-1 win away to Stevenage in the last round as their latest display. Tonight they are missing suspended duo Ryan Taylor and Johnny Mullins as well as injured trio Jake Wright, Josh Ruffels and Sam Long. Chey Dunkley returns from his suspension and Danny Hylton or Patrick Hoban are likely replace Ryan Taylor up front.
Both teams are missing players tonight but Oxford have a much stronger squad and should be the clear favourites.
