De Graafschap – PSV Eindhoven
De Graafschap really had a pretty poor last season in the Dutch second division, but in some miraculous way they still managed to gain promotion to the first division after three rounds of playoff games. Only time will tell if that was a good or a bad thing for the club, but the early signs show they might be ill equipped for life in the top tier. They have had a terrible start to the season and have only 2 points after the first 10 rounds and sit bottom of the table. For obvious reasons the team were tipped for relegation, especially after losing plenty of players including influential left back Caner Cavlan to Heerenveen and Jerry van Ewijk who left for Go Ahead Eagles. The replacements have apparently not been good enough and to be honest there are not many signs they will turn the season around.
PSV Eindhoven are as always among the top teams in the Eredivisie. They currently sit fourth in the table and win tonight will se them move to third and close the gap on Ajax and Feyenoord at the top. They have two very impressive away wins in a row defeating both Twente and top of the table Ajax. PSV also have an excellent head to head record against De Graafschap, winning 13 and drawing 2 of their last 15 clashes. Many of the wins have been by a big margin and we think the visitors are way to strong here in their quest for another league title.
