Zulte-Waregem vs Kortrijk
Zulte-Waregem are starting to look like the team learned to love a couple of seasons ago, a team that almost claimed the title in the 2012/13 season. Last season was a season to forget and even though the team have lost a couple of important players, the new recruits have really settled in well. Zulte fans favourite M’Baye Leye, who spent last season with Lokeren, has returned to the club and done so in style. He has already hit 7 goals in 11 games and is the team’s leading scorer. Also Steve de Ridder, new from FC Copenhagen, has been great and a team that was tipped for mid-table anonymity is now challenging for one of the top spots. Goal scoring has not been a problem this season and the team almost averaging two goals per game and scoring four in each of their last two league games.
Kortrijk had to deal with yet another change of management during the summer as Yves Vanderhaeghe left for Oostende with Johan Walem coming in as his replacement. The early signs have been quite good though and they sit in a respectable 8th position in the table. The biggest problem so far has been goal scoring and picking up points away from home. Though the home form has been good they have only managed to win one away game in six, losing 4 in the process. That is not good enough if you want to claim a spot in the Chamions Round.
Zulte is in excellent goal scoring form and even if Kortrijks defense have been good so far, we think the visitors keeper Darren Keet will have to pick the ball out of the net more than once this evening.
