FC Porto vs Maccabi Tel Aviv
Unbeaten FC Porto welcome Maccabi Tel Aviv to Estádio Do Dragão tonight for the third round in the group stage of the Champions Leaugue. Porto have been very impressing so far this season, both domestically and in Europe, and are still to be beaten in any competition. In the Champions League group stage they have defeated Chelsea 2-0 at home and drawn 2-2 away to Dynamo Kiev. The team has been defensively sound and the change from Real Madrid to the Portuguese capital seems to have done goal keeper Iker Casillas good. He has been somewhat a revelation and is almost back to the form he was in a few years ago. Up front Vincent Aboubakar has filled the boots of Jackson Martinez and new signing from Twente, Mexican Jesús Corona, has been equally impressing in midfield. Porto boss Julen Lopetegui really seems to have found a winning formula despite plenty of changes to his squad over the summer.
Maccabi Tel Aviv are doing well in the domestic league which they top after seven rounds. The Champions League have been a different story though as they have lost 0-4 away to Chelsea and 0-2 at home to Dynamo Kiev. Maccabi are usually finding it hard to impress away from home in Europe and have lost both to Maltese side Hibernians and Slovenian Maribor in the last couple of years. Boss Slavisa Jokanovic knows his team has a tough task and will likely deploy a defensive strategy right from the start. We believe they have a very tough 90 minutes ahead of them.
