Swansea vs Stoke
Swansea’s form has not been the best of late, but they were able to snatch a point off Tottenham in a 2-2 home draw in their last Premier League encounter before the international break. Andrew Ayew was back among the scorers and thereby ended a dry spell of three goalless games after a promising start to the season. He isn’t the only one who has struggled for Swansea, Bafetimibi Gomis has gone five games in all competions without scoring and Swansea boss Garry Monk is hoping that will end tonight when Stoke come for a visit to Liberty Stadium.
Stoke has hit form lately, not surprisingly coinciding with the return of Bojan Krkic. The former Barcelona starlet has been instrumental in the turnaround in fortunes for Mark Hughes’ side after a poor start, and has really blossomed in a number 10 role behind a lone striker. Stoke have struggled in this fixture in recent years but with Hughes signings and change of style, things could be very different this time around. A front four of Krkic, Arnautovic, Shaqiri and Diouf should be mouth watering for any team’s fans, even though Diouf will be out tonight on compassionate leave. Jonathan Walters is his likely replacement but Peter Crouch will also like to have a say in that. Ibrahim Affelay is also raring to get his Stoke career going and could be the preferred choice in one of the attacking roles.
Looking at the head-to-head statistics between the two teams we are likely in for a game with plenty of goals. We believe they will score at least one goals each.
