Fiorentina vs Belenenses
Fiorentina only need a draw in tonight’s final Europa League group stage match against Portuguese side Belenenses in order to qualify for the knockout stages. Viola are going into a very busy schedule, with three games in seven days, facing Juventus already on Sunday, but boss Paulo Sousa has promised his team’s focus is only on tonight’s game. They haven’t impressed at home in Europe this season, recording two straight losses at Stadio Artemio Franchi. They can’t afford that to happen again and with the pressure on for at least a point, we are quite sure they won’t buckle. They will be without Facundo Roncaglia and Jakub Blaszczyowski but the squad is strong so that shouldn’t be too much of a worry.
Belenenses still have a slight chance of making it past the group stage. That however requires a win tonight and the team’s form suggests that will be a very big ask. They lost 0-3 at home to Vitoria Setubal on the weekend and have only picked up a single point in their last four matches in all competitions. The guests are likely to set out with a defensive approach and try to snatch it at the end, but even though Sa Pinto has all of his players available we don’t think they are strong enough to get anything from the game.
Even though the hosts only need a point to go through, we believe they are just a bit too strong here and will claim all three points in the end.
