Lech Poznan vs Fiorentina
Lech Poznan have, considering their goings in the domestic league (currently 15th in the table), done quite well in the Europa League so far. They sit second in the group with four points from the initial three rounds in a very competitive group. In the last round they grabbed a shock win against Fiorentina in Florence despite the home side having almost 70% of the possession and 21-5 in shots. They are actually looking a much better side since Jan Urban took over the reigns and are still to lose a game under his supervision. Despite that, we believe the hosts are likely to struggle tonight against a highly motivated Fiorentina.
Fiorentina are the early, and somewhat surprising, league leaders in Serie A. With attacking and entertaining football, they have won 8 of their 11 league outings this season, averaging two goals per game. In Europe it hasn’t been the same story though and they are only fourth in the group after one win and two defeats from the first three rounds. Fiorentina boss Paulo Sousa has warned his players a win is a must tonight and he will likely not rotate players as much as he has in the previous rounds. That means the team’s leading scorer Nikola Kalinic will start up front, likely supported by Borja Valero and Josip Ilicic. Giuseppe Rossi will be ready as a super sub should his services be needed.
Viola rested players in their league win against Frosinone on Sunday, so there is no doubt they are taking this game very serious.
