It’s time for the Champions League qualifiers again and we are focusing on the second leg between Malmö FF and CFR Cluj.
The first clash between the two was a game with few chances, but Malmö were able to walk away with a 1-0 win thanks to a Carlos Strandberg goal just before the break. A very good result for the Swedes who now can control the game without having to take any considerable risks.
Since Uwe Rösler took over the reins in June, the home side have only conceded three times in seven games in all competitions, so we are expecting a rather quiet evening at Swedbank Stadium.
The fact that it’s just a goal separating the teams will cause the visitors to be a bit cautious as well, as they can afford to wait and instead go for it towards the end of the game.
Cluj have built their success on a tight defence and they conceded only 13 times in 26 games last campaign. It looks to be a similar setup this season and their first four games after the summer break have only seen four goals in total.
A goal shy affair is to be expected.
