Oxford United – Forest Green
Oxford United have made an excellent start to the season and top League Two with 40 points after 20 rounds. They have only lost once in their last 17 games in all competitions and come into today’s 2nd round FA Cup clash with Forest Green, brimming with confidence. Oxford boss Michael Appleton has vowed to take the competition seriously and has promised to will pick the strongest starting eleven possible. He is also boosted by the return of captain Jake Wright who is back from injury, he is likely to take a place on the bench. Oxford have won their last four FA Cup ties against non-league sides and are looking to continue that streak today.
Forest Green are doing well in the National League and sit second in the table with half the season gone. This will definitely be the biggest challenge for the team so far this season and they will have to be on the very top of their game to get anything from the game. Forest Green boss Aidy Pennock will have defender Dale Bennet available after his red card on Saturday was rescinded. Darren Jones is out with an injury but James Jennings is back in contention.
We believe that Oxford are just a little bit too strong here.
