Rapid Bucharest vs Farul Constanta
Rapid Bucharest are in pole position for promotion to the Romanian top tier as the top the promotion round table after two matches. In the last round they claimed an important 3-2 win away to Academica Clinceni and should have a good opportunity for another three points when bottom team Farul Constanta come for a visit. Rapid can’t afford to relax though as Duarea Calarasi are only one point and ready to pounce should Rapid stutter. We believe tonight provides an excellent opportunity to extend that lead and can’t really see anything but a home win here.
Farul Constanta have encountered humiliating defeats in their first two games in the promtion round. A 0-4 away defeat to Dacia Unirea Braila was followed up by an even bigger loss (0-6) at home to Dunarea Calarasi. Their chance of promotion is all but gone and something is definitely not right with the team or club for that matters. Players have been waiting months for their salaries to be paid out and to add to the chaos, top scorer and arguably Farul’s best player, Adrian Patulea’s contract was terminated after disciplinary problems following the defeat in the last round. Ovidiu Vezan, Florin Popa, Valentin Munteanu, Tigoianu, Murgoci and Pungă have also been left out of the squad for tonight’s game. We expect a very one-sided affair here.
