Rapid Vienna vs Torpedo Zhodino
Rapid Vienna are big favorites going into tonight’s second leg clash with Torpedo Zhodino in the Europa League qualifying round. The first leg in Belarus ended in a 0-0 draw, with Rapid Vienna being on top most of the 90 minutes without creating too many clear cut chances. At the Allianz Stadion it’s another story though, a place where Rapid have won in 6 of their last 7 games all competitions.
With no away goals to rely on, Rapid are not likely to want to take this into extra time and penalties, and might turn up the pace early on in the game. The home side is definitely the better team on paper and it is time to show that on the pitch as well tonight.
Torpedo Zhodino have not done well in the domestic league this season and sit in 9th place after 15 rounds. They have lost three games on the trot and are not likely to reach any of the European spots this season.
With that in mind it came as a real surprise when they knocked Hungarian side Debrecen out of the competition in the last qualifying round. To be fair though, they were outplayed in both legs and somehow still managed to come out on top. We don’t think they are capable of a something similar here.
