Sparta Prague vs Lazio
Sparta Prague head into tonight’s Europa League round of 16 clash with Lazio on the back of knocking Russian side FK Krasnodar out of the competition. They have also done well in the domestic league where they are on a 5 match winning streak as well as in Europe where they are unbeaten in 10 straight home games in this competition. With all that said, they haven’t really faced competition of Lazio’s calibre (Schalke and Krasnodar may excuse) and we believe they will struggle to at least grab all three points here.
Lazio are the only Italian team left in the competition and this is their chance to make something of the season. They are not likely to qualify for Europe based on their league position and the Europa League is hence their last resort. That means Lazio boss Stefano Pioli is likely to field his strongest possible eleven tonight after naming all of his stars in the squad. They are on an eight match unbeaten run away from home in the Europa League and haven’t lost an away game since the end of November last year. We really don’t think that will change tonight.
