Barwell vs Skelmersdale
Barwell can make it 12 wins in a row when they welcome Skelmersdale to Kirby Road tonight. This amazing run includes 10 straight league wins, 7 of them coming when playing at home. Barwell boss Jimmy Ginnelly is hoping for even better as he expects some of his injured players to be fit and ready tonight after having only 11 players available on Saturday. They are only two points behind Stourbridge in the last promotion playoff spot and it’s not unlikely they can even push for promotion this season.
Skelmersdale are not having it as easy and have lost four of their last five league games including three straight defeats. Their 2-5 defeat by 20th placed Stamford on the weekend was maybe the low point of the season and they need to do something to turn their fortunes around unless they want to get dragged into a relegation battle. They have in fact bolstered their squad with the loan signing of midfielder Mike Brewster from Southport. He will go straight into the squad for tonight, but we still don’t think that will be enough for any points.
