Spezia vs Como
After a really poor few weeks in November, Spezia have had a fantastic December in which they have gone undefeated in the league (3 wins, 3 draws), as well as knocking Serie A giants Roma out of Coppa Italia. They have three home wins in a row in all competitions and since new manager Domenico di Carlo took over the reigns the team has really improved. With several players now also back from injury layoffs, the team can start to mount a serious attack on the promotion playoff spots. Zoran Kvrzic and Miguel de las Cuevas are still out but Croatian midfielder Dario Canadija is back after his one match suspension.
Como were before the season tipped to struggle to stay in the division and it seems like the tipsters got this one right. With only 10 points in 19 league rounds they are rock bottom of Serie B, 10 points off safety. They go into tonight’s clash with Spezia on the back of three consecutive defeats, games in which they also failed to score a single goal, and only one away win in 9 outings. In their last away game they lost 0-4 against 15th placed Ternana and with several players missing we give them little chance of getting anything from tonight’s game. Pol Garcia Tena, Antonio Giosa, Martino Borghese, Federico Gerardi, Alessandro Sbaffo and Alessio Cristiani are all out injured and will be sorely missed.
