Wrexham vs Guiseley
Wrexham were once again one of the favourites for promotion going into this season. They did also have a great start and went on a five game winning streak after an opening defeat to Bromley. Lately though things have not gone their way and they are now instead on a five game winless streak. Their schedule have been tough though and tonight it looks a bit easier as lowly Guiseley come for a visit. A positive note has been the form of striker Connor Jennings who hasn’t only scored two goals in the last three games, but also put in a man of the match performance in the defeat to Dover on the weekend. Guiseley have to be very aware of him tonight.
Guiseley just managed to clinch the last playoff spot in National League North last season. They then amazingly went all the way and won a place in the National League after a 3-2 playoff final win against Chorley. They have been heavily tipped to go straight down again and even though they proved their doubters wrong early in the season, they are now finding it harder and harder to pick up points. With three straight defeats and a goal diffrerence of 0-7 they are instead quickly finding themselves at the wrong end of the table. A clash against a highly motivated Wrexham side could end up being a very unpleasant experience if they play anywhere near as poor as in the two defeats against Forest Green and Macclesfield.
We believe this is a perfect game for ambitious Wrexham to get back on track again.
