Zorkiy Krasnogorsk Women vs Atletico Madrid Women
After a year’s absence, Zorkiy Krasnogorsk are back in Women’s Champions League. They clinched second spot in the league last season, only four points adrift Zvezda Perm, and hence grabbed one of two CL spots. They are again trailing Zvezda Perm this season and have struggled for form lately with only one win in their last four league outings. It was quite an upset then when they defeated Atletico Madrid 2-0 in the first leg in Madrid a week ago. The scoreline didn’t reflect the game though as Atletico were on top for most of the 90 minutes, had over 60% of the possession and over 20 goal attempts to only two for Zorkiy.
Atletico Madrid have been in good form in the league and top the table ahead of Barcelona after the initial five rounds. They made a great addition in the summer by snapping up Spanish national team player Sonia Bermudez, who joined from Western New York. The former top scorer of Barcelona will for sure be an excellent signing, even though she missed a couple of sitters in the first leg. It could well be that she gets her revenge already tonight. We believe Atletico is the better team and should have a decent chance of going through on aggregate.
