Germany vs Georgia
Germany have been surprisingly weak in this qualifying campaign and have not yet secured a place in next year’s Euro in France. They are on top of group D with one round to play but could actually end up third should they lose to Georgia and the clash between Poland and Ireland would end up in a draw. Thomas Müller failed to score against Republic of Ireland on Thursday but has been in great form for both club and country and is surely eager to get on the scoresheet again. The same goes for Hoffenheim’s Kevin Volland who might get a chance to shine after Mario Götze has been ruled out. Alternatively Thomas Müller will be moved up to a striker’s position with Kerim Bellarabi drafted in alongside Mesut Özil and Marco Reus as one of the three just behind the front man. Ilkay Gündogan is likely to continue deputising for Bastian Schweinsteiger in the center of midfield.
Gerogia will not make the trip to France next year after a pretty weak qualifying campaign. They have only managed nine points from nine games, including two wins against lowly Gibraltar and a home win against Scotland. They have struggled against the two top teams in the group losing 0-4 both home and away to Poland and 0-2 at home to Germany. With nothing to play for we believe the Georgians will struggle against a highly motivated German side.
Germany don’t like to keep it this close when it comes to qualifiers and we expect them to enter this game with full throttle in order to kill it off as quickly as possible. They definitely has the quality to do just that.
