Kopparbergs Göteborg FC have had plenty of ups and downs this season and now sit 5th in the table with five rounds to play. Much of the inconsistency has been down to losing first-choice keeper Loes Geurts, who suffered a cuncussion early in the summer which still keeps her out. In her place, 18-year old Fanny Lund has stepped in and her inexperience has been exposed several times. She has somewhat improved lately but facing players like Marta and Josee Belanger could prove a bit too much for the young goalie. Coach Stefan Rehn is also sweating over the fitness of Elin Rubensson and Danielle van de Donk, who both missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Umeå.
FC Rosengård were big favourites to claim the league title before the season started. Things have not been going according to plan though, especially not after losing both Anja Mittag and Ramona Bachmann mid-season. Their replacements, Natasa Andonova and Josee Belanger, are now starting to click and their partnership up front could prove to be the key to the title. Rosengård are still trailing Eskilstuna United by two points and really need to bag all three points here in order not to lose ground in the title race.
