Lierse vs Deinze
Lierse have after a difficult start to the season found their footing and are now undefeated in 9 straight league games. On Sunday they drew 2-2 away to Cercle Brugge and even though they scored the equalizer late in the game, they were the better team throughout and should have picked up all three points. They now sit 10th in the table but have started to close the gap on the top 8 teams and are just four points behind Lommel in 8th. Slovenian striker Etien Velinkolja has been in excellent goal scoring form this season, hitting 13 goals in 15 league games. He will continue to lead the line after overcoming a slight knock and could overtake Tubize’s Diallo at the top of the goal scoring charts should he score tonight.
Deinze have after a good start to the season only won once in 16 games in all competitions. They have only managed three points in their last 10 league games and have two heavy losses in their last two outings away from home where they also failed to score. The club have a couple of turbulent weeks behind them in which head coach Dennis van Wijk was dismissed and sporting director Mario David resigned following the poor league performance. There is not much to suggest there will be any change in fortunes for the visitors and we believe the home side will run out rather comfortable winners here.
