Villarreal vs Huesca
Villarreal have had a decent season so far and sit 5th in the Primera table, trailing Celta Vigo in fourth by a single point. They have two consecutive home wins in the league, first defeating Rayo Vallecano 2-1 and then Real Madrid 1-0 on Sunday. The Real Madrid win was even more impressive considering they played in the Europa League on Thursday and are now entering a very hectic week. Tonight they face Segunda side Huesca in the second leg of the round of 32 in Copa del Rey. The visitors surprisingly won the first leg 3-2 and The Yellow Submarines now need a win in order to proceed to the next round. They have a few players out, especially in the defence, but offensively they look very solid with Roberto Soldado likely to lead the line. He hasn’t scored as many goals as he would have liked this season and is probably eager to get on the scoresheet.
Huesca sit 16th in Segunda Division, just a couple of places above the relegation zone and need to start racking up some wins to make sure they stay in the division next year. After three straight defeats they picked up some well needed points away to bottom of the table Almeria on Sunday, giving them a bit of breathing room. Focus will surely be on the league even though they shocked Villarreal to win the first leg in the cup 3-2. It won’t be as easy at the Madrigal though as Villarreal is the the second strongest home team in the Primera Division with 6 wins and a draw in 8 outings.
We believe Huesca’s cup run will end here as Villarreal coach Marcelino has picked an offensively strong squad that will put the visitors defense under immense pressure throughout the game.
