Newcastle vs Everton
Newcastle have finally found some stability after a rocky start to the season. However, they are still conceding cheap goals and are finding it rather difficult to keep clean sheets. Only Sunderland have conceded more goals this season and the back four is still a big question mark for the Magpies. They also have to do without first choice keeper Tim Krul as well as Steven Taylor and Gabriel Obertan who all are out injured. They are still just above the relegation zone and need to start winning their home games, so they are likely to go on the attack rather than to sit back.
All teams under the guidance of Roberto Martinez will play offensive and attractive football, so also Everton. The goals will usually flow going forward but stopping them for going in at the other end is usually the problem. With that said, only Leicester and Manchester City have scored more goals than Everton and with and attacking four consisting of Lukaku, Deulofeu, Koné and Barkley there won’t be many boring 0-0 matches when Everton enter the field. The Toffees were very disappointed with the 2-3 home defeat to Leicester last Saturday and Martinez might shuffle his pack a little bit, giving Kevin Mirallas a chance to shine ahead of Koné.
If we look at the head-to-head statistics, there has been 3 goals or more in all of the last 9 games between the teams. We think we’re in for another evening with goals.
