Wigan vs Peterborough

Wigan are second in the table and are rapidly closing in on league leaders Burton Albion at the summit. There are now only four point separating the two even though Burton have one game in hand. Wigan are undefeated in their last 13 games in the league, including an impressive 8 wins. At home they have been scoring an emphatic 15 goals in their last 6 league outings and the 3-0 win against Bury last week also saw top scorer Will Grigg hit a brace after two goalless outings. In other words, things are looking really good at the moment and we believe they are likely to put another three points on the board here.

Team news: The home side will be without injured trio Michael Jacobs, Reece James and Sanmi Odelusi as well as suspended Sam Morsy.

Peterborough are looking awful at the moment and have lost five league games in a row. They now face the daunting task of traveling to an in-form Wigan side going for the league title. The visitors have slipped to 16th in the table but are not yet in any immediate danger of getting dragged into a relegation battle. The sale of top scorer Conor Washtington to QPR in January has really hurt the team and they have only won once in 10 games since his departure. The 14 goals Posh have conceded in their last five league outings also make them the team with the worst defensive record in the division at the moment and only bottom teams Colchester and Crewe have conceded more goals this season.

Team news: Joe Gormley and Jermaine Anderson are out injured from before and Lee Angol won’t make it either. Ben Alnwick and Chris Forrester are serious doubts and Ricardo Santos is suspended.
